I’m Julie Baur, the founder of Baur Interiors. My journey began 15 years ago with a passion for design that traces back to my childhood in St. Louis. Since I was a little girl, I had the lucky fortune to watch my stylish and sophisticated mom work with a few talented decorators for her own home. I soaked up everything creative and visual I possibly could. I'm very confident I rearranged and redesigned my bedroom more than anyone else I knew, old or young!

Despite my passion for design, I pursued a degree in art history from the University of Michigan and earned a master’s degree in health administration. After getting married and moving home to St. Louis, my robust curiosity and eye for design led me to take on the renovation of our newly purchased home. With no experience or industry relationships, it was a bold move…one I’m so glad I made. That personal project stirred up interest, requests for advice, and, ultimately, my realization that interior design is my true calling. I’ve never looked back.

Since 2008, I have worked with clients in St. Louis and beyond, completing projects in Florida, Idaho, Michigan, Maine and Boston. My work has been featured in publications including St. Louis Magazine, Sophisticated Living, Ladue News, House & Garden and earned St. Louis Magazine’s Architect & Designer Award for Traditional Design of the Year in 2012 and 2022.

I find that the best way to get inspiration is to get out and explore, so I have made it a priority to travel extensively. I am always motivated by the amazing places I have seen, whether it’s a city or a countryside (nature)…..(this needs finessing). 

To this day, I adore creating beautiful spaces that inform the very backdrop of people’s lives. I work with clients closely to infuse personality, memories, and a sense of warmth into their homes. In big ways and small ways, I am passionate about helping each person I work with have a home that is unique, warm, and sophisticated.
